Why do you believe that you deserve this staffing position?:

Well here we go.

 

Lets start off by saying I am extremely experienced. Having over 9000 hours in the game (Fight me), I have accounted YEARS of collective staffing experience. I know exactly what it takes to be a staff member, the pressure and the repetition that is brings, but I have always loved that challenge in looking into issues to provide a solid outcome for both parties, as well as protecting the servers integrity. I know how to work with players, both normal and challenging and generally have showmen great results

 

I personally am always active since my return, gaining a reputation for my police and casino running RP, as well as being a bit of a clown (In a non-minge way). Safe so say I am a respectable and nice person who never looks to try and cause trouble.

 

I know that if given the role, I will put the work and hours into it, assisting players as well as other places I can be. I will strive to help everyone both old and new and be a fair, non-power hungry person that I personally believe a staff member should be. I work well with others and don't like to think I am top dog which can be a great asset to the team.

 

Finally, my mindset is great in this sort of thing, taking all things into account. Ironically this brings in my massive weakness which is to sometimes overthink things, but this can also be a strength as I can find things that others may not of noticed. I enjoy challenges and learning new things, and hope to aspire to the management position so I can finally unlock my true protentional.

 

 

Explain your ability to work as a team (Using examples):

Teamwork is generally the one thing I excel at. Using my commander as reference, I know how to work well with others. I believe that staffing in particular is NOT a one man job, and will require the help of others people to get it done. I love to take feedback into account both positive and negative so I can improve myself. I work along well with others in my PD section of the server being a commander. Therefore, i have to work with others well and take ALL inputs into account to have a positive outcome.

 

 

 

What qualities will you bring to the staff team?:

I will, like all my applications, list my qualities I will bring.

 

Fairness:

I am an extremely fair person. I tend and strive to remove bias form my works and provide a fair presence and communication to both parties involved. I do not take sides unless the evidence is over-whelming, and always aim to help everyone by listening to them, and finding a fair outcome while trying to remove the administrative side of things.

 

Teamwork:

Already explained this above so I'll keep it there.

 

Kindness:

Quite possibly one of the most kind people you will ever meet. I do not ever intentionally bully/harass anyone, but know how to take jokes and share banter around to improve the relationships and fun within the community. I will always be friendly to players, both new and old and try make a greater experience for the community and the server as a whole.

 

Dedication:

A big one, i am dedicated to my work, and staffing will be no different different. I know that with my commander duties, i will have to balance between the two which is a good thing so i wont burn myself out as much on either sides. I will dedicate time to both sides to help the server and it's players while showing a great attitude as well.

Great playtime with 0 warns, upholds the rules, very active on the forums, ingame and in the discord. TAW possesses all qualities staff are held to.

 

He has proven great in roles like these before and has shown he can handle power in the past and the present having recently gotten accepted for SWAT commander.

 

Staffing with TAW in the short time I did It was clear to see he was stand out and had that natural attitude towards it, with his generous personality and selfless decisions I have really nothing bad to say about him.

To start off, I know you're an older member, which shows dedication to the time you've committed to playing on the server as a whole. Going off this, I agree that having a clean slate with no warnings shows how you're willing to follow the rules, especially with having over a week of playtime.

 

Your application format is well written out and clear to understand with good answers to back up why you deserve a position as a staff member.

 

Looking at both your forum and discord activity, it shows you're actively communicating within the community since returning and you're also very active in-game.

Hello TAW, coming with a +1. 1 week and 3 day's is great, shows an understanding of the rules. The app you written up is well detailed, you have gotten the ranks of Trusted and SWAT Commander. I haven't talked to you much, but from what others say, you are a friendly and mature guy.

To begin with l am a dumbass, and you are a king 👑">, I have started seeing you around more often showing that you really are hopefully ingoing the sever, for almost having a week and a half on the sever with ZERO warns is a mimical( l don't know what this word is) to see at most and truly shows that extremally and completely understand the sever rules or you just don't roleplay but anyways that app definitely reflects who you are and also shows who you want to be in the future as a staff member, l hope to be able to enjoy stabbing you in the back as a hitman, JK l look towards you being a staff member mate

TAW is a really good fit for the staff team due to the fact that I don't think there has been a day when I have been on the server and he hasn't. He also has a lot of experience (that is an understatement) which is a really good thing to have when applying for a staff position in any server. On top of all that the application is also really detailed, for those reasons I believe taw would make a good staff member.

Its gonna be a -1 from me,

 

Honestly its nothing to do with this application or just you as a person, I personally believe that you are just impatient on recieving the ranks that you had in the past. You left the server for about a year and a half came back, became really active which was good to see. You applied for trusted which is fine, 2 days later you applied for commander which is excusable, then 4 days later you apply for staff?? To me that just looks impatient, how do i know once you have gained these roles that you arent going to get burned out/bored of gmod again?

 

I get that your a returning player who wants to get back to where they were but i think if you waited a longer amount of time before applying for staff role, you might of gained a +1 from me but just because its all in a small time period i cannot. I personally believe if you gain such a role, you will become burned out again, barely hitting the staff quota we have and leave the staff team after a period of time. I hope you prove me wrong but thats my reasoning for a -1.

I was thinking about it last night and the more i thought the more my mind changed. its not so much to do with you, but its more about how you, James, and zomzie have only just started to re join the server and community. but the server has changed since you last played and i personally believe you and the other 2 are trying to get back into your old positions to quickly.

I understand where Andrew and wallaby are coming from, but I also understand from your perspective on why this may be happening. When coming back to a community you once had presence in, you do wish to come back to where you left off. I can speak from my own experience as I left the community as a staff manager and came back, instantly wanting to be staff again. I don't believe there is anything wrong with this but I do get that it can look bad in other peoples point of views.

Regardless of this, you still have put in the effort that a community member needs to, to apply for staff. I have seen your presence around the community and your application is outstanding. Your experience is not something to overlook and it would be great to have your assistance.

Seeing how much experience you have being gmod staff and how you have no warnings also how you have 9000 HOURS IN GMOD is extremely impressive, there is nothing I can think of that doesn't make you a perfect staff member for orbital.

I don't know you super well. I am relying upon the previous opinions in this post and trust that they are accurate. Unfortunately, I haven't been active on the server and as such cannot comment on your character. However, you have a tonne of experience and have laid your application out very well. An experienced staff member is always appreciated to have onboard though you will need to the learn/relearn the processes and culture of how the staff on this server do things. This server's moderation is unique in its own way and is part and parcel of the Orbital Servers experience.
