Am I insane? abse-fucking-lutely! But I'm also severely bored.

 

I understand that my "ZRP" server suggestion was a bit of a stretch. Orbital players may not be ready for a mix of combat and rp in that way. So i came up with a new idea. If Orbital has a server almost solely for RP then having a server dedicated to combat and rdm just makes sense!

 

TDM (Team Death Match) Is a gamemode that pits 2 teams with no objective other than to kill the other team. Weapons are lying around the map and it's up to your teams MVP to lead them to victory. You may be asking yourself "well why should the roleplayers play this?". They should play it because A. This server could offer a new way of grinding money for the RP server with a connected currency and B. because fighting is more thrilling then roleplay and it'd serve a great method towards letting off steam.

How do you think this will benefit the community?:

The best part about this is You, Glitch. Hardly need to put any effort into the server. You don't have to create or buy new jobs with your own cash, you don't have to make the maps yourself because Gmod has *tons* of DM or TDM maps that can be put into rotation and you most certainly do not need to moderate for it as much! All that needs moderating is what's said in chat and exploits since this server wouldn't allow prop spawning which ALSO makes it easier for the gmod staff team to look after it!

 

I went digging in hopes that i could find even a normal DM server on gmod. I couldn't find a single one, meaning that if this turns out good. Orbital may be the only option for A LOT of people, even non aussies.

 

I know someone's gonna mention HL2DM. The reason why I'm asking for Gmod TDM is because it's easier to implement player models and weapons and it would be easier to access for the gmod players since they don't have to close then open a new game to play some quick TDM.

 

Completely unrelated but the teams could be Cyan VS Fuchsia to *really* go into that orbital style

gmod is dead as fuck especially in aus no point opening any further servers imo

If it was an event, possibly... But it would be a complete waste of money doing a TDM server as gmod is not very popular in Australia, as Dallas Steel said there have been other attempts at servers which all failed.

I want Orbital Zombie Mod/Zombie Run server though, make it happen @glitch

I think a more realistic version of this suggestion would be part of the map where no RDM or NLR rules apply. Like an abandoned part of the city where anyone can be KOS at any time. There would be pros and cons of living there and it would also be great for drawing RDMers away from the rest of the server.

Idk, we had minecraft and rust server, and they didnt last long.
