But if Orbital ends up going out of their way to include it in the future (given their recent decisions it seems quite likely) then I just want to make sure it goes down how I'd (and hopefully most of the playerbase) would want it to go. I'm am listing a collection of Restrictions that would come from buying yourself a custom job. I'm not going to argue how much they should be as long as it's enough to cover server maintenance and life requirements. Restrictions are as follows: Player models must be under a certain file-size in order to be accepted Player models cannot contain lewd or socially discomforting models, such as anthropomorphic characters, historical figures, cartoons or futuristic robots, jobs need to fit into the aesthetic of the server and surroundings. Jobs should not be allowed to spawn with any weapon the server offers given they have the money for it. Player's selection should be restricted to anything that is sold by the Gun Dealer or Black Market dealer. They also should not be allowed more then 2 weapons (given perma-weapons existence like Knifes and 367s). Base level armour should be fine to have as an option Requests for a custom job should be handed and viewed by Orbital Staff & Roots and not automatically reviewed by any program. This is to avoid use of the system such as loopholes. Custom jobs should stay accessible until the owner of said job has been offline for ever 2 months (2 months based off of current player pop + average absent times) The buyer of a job should have the option of making the job public to use, given it is seen as "extra appropriate" for the server's roleplay experience, if so. The job can not be removed until it is untouched by any players for half of the 2 month period (1 month) How do you think this will benefit the server?: If Orbital ever truly decides to double down on their borrowing of premium mechanics. Having these restrictions will not only help differentiate the server from counterparts but will also make experiencing people with custom jobs more welcoming and not something that can take players out of the experience. Alternatively, if the server's stability is not affected by the custom job system, Roots could host events that offer a custom job as a reward to incentivise competition, of course including the option to give it to someone else, in the event that the winner cannot take the custom job for whatever purpose.

I went back into orbital recently out of boredom and realised the little area housing Liberty Mall is really nice but underused. So i decided maybe I should spend my next few uploads on offering content specifically for that area i like to call Liberty after the mall itself. First dupe I made is a generic clothing store reminiscent of GTA ones. The store features plenty of clothing, a desk and a mirror. Along with a back area featuring a changing room and a little closed off "curtain" that can be used for printers, hostages or factory equipment. anyway yeah that's it ummmm go to Liberty area more often it looks better the Main St cosmetic store.txt

+1 Good idea for making players move around. People tend to play normal medic just to fuck around OOC so having this to incentivise working.

I'd play on the same server as you Ragnar and all i have to say is this job simply couldn't be able to serve the same purpose. Civil Protection are born to be evil cops who force slavery upon xenos and humans. Orbital PD wasn't born like that but just is anyway, my point being the government isn't shit enough to warrent a slavery job. Not to mention DarkRP is meant to be "before the 7 hour war" if you care to mix it into some strange canon for Half-Life. Because it's DarkRP i don't see why we can't have a job that racially segregates a certain group to just clean shit but i don't think an Alien is gonna slide.

I understand that my "ZRP" server suggestion was a bit of a stretch. Orbital players may not be ready for a mix of combat and rp in that way. So i came up with a new idea. If Orbital has a server almost solely for RP then having a server dedicated to combat and rdm just makes sense! TDM (Team Death Match) Is a gamemode that pits 2 teams with no objective other than to kill the other team. Weapons are lying around the map and it's up to your teams MVP to lead them to victory. You may be asking yourself "well why should the roleplayers play this?". They should play it because A. This server could offer a new way of grinding money for the RP server with a connected currency and B. because fighting is more thrilling then roleplay and it'd serve a great method towards letting off steam. How do you think this will benefit the community?: The best part about this is You, Glitch. Hardly need to put any effort into the server. You don't have to create or buy new jobs with your own cash, you don't have to make the maps yourself because Gmod has *tons* of DM or TDM maps that can be put into rotation and you most certainly do not need to moderate for it as much! All that needs moderating is what's said in chat and exploits since this server wouldn't allow prop spawning which ALSO makes it easier for the gmod staff team to look after it! I went digging in hopes that i could find even a normal DM server on gmod. I couldn't find a single one, meaning that if this turns out good. Orbital may be the only option for A LOT of people, even non aussies. I know someone's gonna mention HL2DM. The reason why I'm asking for Gmod TDM is because it's easier to implement player models and weapons and it would be easier to access for the gmod players since they don't have to close then open a new game to play some quick TDM. +1 Since your last attempt at a staff application i have bumped into you more often. I've also caught you assisting new players in certain jobs so it's clear you have a sense of support which is something a lot of staff will need. While the votes are up though, I hope that I see you doing more interaction with people.

Server doesn't need to support a large player count. I'd say a 20 player cap is all that's needed. making the server price an easy 5 bucks per month

phat +1 I have occasionally bumped into Ryl and they've been chill. Not ever had a full conversation with them but the previous staff experience and no warns is an easy yes for me. I think it'd be worth having you on staff

I just want you to know I'm sorry for anything mean or obnoxious I've said to you. You've been pretty good with taking punches for the time you've been on but even then I feel like I should still be on good terms with you even if it's for the smallest of insults. Details/Information about your suggestion: Now I know suggesting a WHOLE SERVER is a little taboo but here me out... There's this American server I occasionally play on ran by Sups.gg. and needless to say there are a fair few part of the server I simply do not like. I know for a fact if the roots had the mindset, they could make this server far better. So I will go into explanation of how ZRP would work and why it would benefit Orbital in general ZombieRP is a game mode that is an apocalyptic version of DarkRP, the rules and jobs that are typically seen in DarkRP are cut in half to benefit the harsh wasteland. The way I picture this server working is you only have citizens, free runners, thugs, gun dealers, medics, Hitmen, a drug maker and *maybe* some others. There's no police force and there's no laws. The only place anyone is truly safe at is spawn, entering the wastes leaves you exposed to harsher combat and more frequent muggings compared to DarkRP. Ontop of that you are obviously exposed to a world of the undead. where capping a zombie can earn you a small profit. Deadly strangers can be avoided by forming a squad, clan or group that will (hopefully) make it so your group cannot hurt each other and in the process increase the odds of survival outside of spawn. Your inventory will not carry over to ZRP but your VIP/Trusted power will. That being said, the weapon skin system would still be available and probably identical. Maybe even the hats stay, but with a mode like this that only has a few jobs. I have an idea for a new set of cosmetics people can grind for; "outfits" or select player models you can buy in store or unbox to set your job model as and will serve not only as an extra form of customization but also as a way to "include" orbital's classic darkRP jobs that may not serve the same purpose or simply cannot exist in a wasteland setting. A few obvious examples are; A SWAT outfit for die hard PD fans, A suit outfit for the formal player or the gang lover, obviously a few apocalyptic outfits such as rebels and maybe even a vault suit for fallout fans. These outfits would not be restricted to any jobs meaning any job is allowed to wear these clothing items. Now keen gmod players might notice that ZRP is usually a complete copy of darkRP. Well what I'm suggesting here is more of a "true ZRP" that follows more conventions to a real apocalypse game like Rust or Fallout How do you think this will benefit the community?: Having a more chaotic gmod server would be great for the DarkRP player base to let off some steam. The server would be a harsher and more challenging experience for diehard gmod players like the 24/7 free runner enjoyers (You know who you are). But more casual players could also enjoy it for the zombie slaying action the server would come with and the rewarding sensation of killing zombies, earning cash and unlocking cosmetic items which from my experience is incredibly enjoyable. I also think the experience will be different, fun and unique enough compared to DarkRP and the (in development) SWRP that it will garner a solid player count and mini community of gmod survivalists. I forgot where to put this in but yes you would also be able to build and base, just like in DarkRP. Just wanted to clarify that
